Tab Stash is a browser extension that helps you organize, archive, and recall Chrome tabs. We built it with a simple principle: your browsing data stays on your device. We do not operate servers, collect analytics, or store any of your data outside your own browser.
We collect nothing.
Tab Stash does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. There are no user accounts, no registration, and no telemetry of any kind.
Tab Stash stores the following data locally in your browser only, using Chrome's built-in storage APIs:
| Data | Where stored | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Tab titles, URLs, visit counts, timestamps | chrome.storage.local |
Scoring tabs for auto-archive |
| Archived tab history | IndexedDB (via Dexie.js) | Browsable archive and restore |
| Recent archive list (last 100 tabs) | chrome.storage.local |
Quick access in popup |
| Extension settings | chrome.storage.sync |
Persist your preferences |
| AI provider API keys | chrome.storage.local |
Authenticate AI grouping requests |
This data never leaves your device except as described in the AI Grouping section below.
You can delete all locally stored data at any time by removing the extension from Chrome.
Tab Stash offers an optional AI-powered tab grouping feature. This feature is disabled by default and requires you to supply your own API key from a third-party AI provider.
